10 To Midnight (1982)

Cast:Charles Bronson, Andrew Stevens,Lisa Eilbacher,Gene Davis

Bronson stars as a cop who with his partner probe the serial killer behind the murders of young women in this slick yet unpleasant thriller which offers a few decent twists yet doesn't really reach it's full potentional of the unusual premise which finds the killer, killing in the nude. Add in campy hysterics and some truly over the top acting and you have a movie almost enjoyably trashy to recommend.

To say that
10 To Midnight is a better made movie then Death Wish II, is really damning with faint praise. Afterall Death Wish II was direly inept and worst of all, boring. While Bronson's vigilante tactics remain intact, this one has more gore and some moderate suspense. However what really does this film in is the hysterical over the top acting. One scene in particular is when Gene Davis hits a stool in the police holding room, then starts screaming in a tantrum after finding out Bronson planted evidence.

10 To Midnight is probably as unpleasant as Death Wish II in the sense of how far it goes, but at least this time there is some polish to the scenes and works as a slasher flick. If one wanted to see Bronson in a Friday The 13th, this is as close one will get.  However all is not bad, afterall it's all pretty watchable and there are moments of campy absurdity which make this somewhat of a guilty pleasure, but this is mainly a best bet for Bronson fans. .D.J.Lee Thompson **1/2
