I enjoyed looking over your collection. I too collect Argus - the C3 was the first camera I "really" wanted but got a Ricoh at dad's insistance instead. Now, maybe, I'm making up for that disappointment! But my collection is not limited to Argus. I look for 50's and earlier range finders and tend to pick up other 35mm of that vintage that interests me. Have you been to Huron Camera in Dexter, Michigan? Owned and operated by former Argus factory repairmen, the store and the oldtimers in it are a wealth of knowledge and collectables. They have a web page though I don't know their URL off hand. Again, a nice page and a good looking collection.

Like your Argus Collection ... just starting mine. By the way, the price of the C44 from a 1956 ad is $99 (US) for the Camera with just the 50mm f2.8 Cintagon Lens. A 'complete' outfit with 35mm and 100 mm Cintagons plus Flash and meter would run close to $300. Quite a lot of money 40+ years ago. ;-)

My first camera was a Brownie 616, long gone. My second_ and long-time camera_ was an Argus C-4. I also own a C-3, and sometimes think of collecting Argus. Such nice utility cameras. This is an office E-mail address, so please don't send me a lot of tuff. But I'd like to hear your thoughts on collecting Argus equipment. Aside from the C-3, C-4, and C-44, is any of it really good quality?
