Comments : After earning some credibility with her recordings of standards with the London Philharmonic, this album is Pia's first attempt to hit the pop charts again. On 'When The Lights Go Out' she works together with producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, the same men who produced a.o. Janet Jackson's 'Control' and 'Rhytm Nation' albums. Another contributor is John 'Jellybean' Benitez -the man who helped firestart Madonna's carreer- who plays guitar and does a solo on 'I don't wanna love'. This album was only released in Europe and the first (and only) single 'Dance Out Of My Head' was quite a radio hit. Several remix versions were released but the song never really made it into the charts though. The album didn't do that well, but it is considered as a carreer mark for Pia Zadora, just like 'Butterfly' and 'Pia & Phil". |
