Comments : "Pia", Pia Zadora's debut album, features "It's Wrong For Me To Love You" from the movie Butterfly and "Those Eyes" from Fake-Out. "I'm In Love Again" was the first single from this album and reached only n°45 on the US charts. But it was a very big hit in France and prompted French television to produce a five-part special on Pia. Since then, Pia ccntinued to have a special band with the country : several of her albums where released under a different name in France : "Pia" became "Adorable", "Let's Dance Tonight" became "Here Comes Pia". In 1983, she was elected "American Artist Of The Year" at the MIDEM in Cannes. Apart from "It's Wrong..." and "I'm Love Again", no other singles were released from this album, which still hasn't been released on CD. Reviews : Billboard album review (originally reviewed for week ending 4/24/1982): The tiny actress-singer is currently the rage of the jet set with her roli in "Butterfly" and her label disk debut is typically melodramatic, internationally-flavored and fastpaced, Zadora's braintrust has wisely relied on some experienced writers, with three Mann/Weil songs. The theme from "Butterfly" is also included, but the best cut is the only one produced by Jack Morali, "I'm In Love Again" |
