DANCE OUT OF MY HEAD
Dance Out Of My Head was the first single to be released from the When The Lights Go Out album. And the expectation were very high. After finally getting good reviews for Pia & Phil and I Am What I Am, Pia's former albums of torch songs and evergreens, she wanted to try pop music again. The plan was to release the new material in Europe first, since Pia had always been accepted as a pop singer there, and see what happens. She wanted something  to come back ti in case it didn't work. The producers of this new material were Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, the masterminds behind Janet Jackson's five-time platinum Control album (1985). Despite all the efforts to score a hit (great video, several remix versions,...), Dance Out Of My Head didn't do that well. It stranded on the lowest regions of the charts.
This is what happened, in my humble opinion : by the time the album and the single were released, the R&B/soul-style was no longer the hippest thing in Europe. The old continent, at that time, was already moving to into the techno-dance era.
So, this project flopped big-time and therefor was never released in the States.

Some of the remixes of this song :
* The Dressed Down mix
* The House Groove Vocal
* The Dub Version
* The Jam & Lewis Radio edit
* The Ben Liebrand Remix

Apart from these 'official' releases, there exist also a great club version on the Razormaid label, on their This Is ...Only A Test-series (for DJ's only)
