PIA ZADORA'S LATEST FILM GETS PUBLICITY BLITZ, NEW TITLE ROCK-ALIEN SAGA IN DEEP FREEZE Los Angeles Times In color ads in the trades a year and a half ago, "Voyage of the Rock Aliens" was hyped as "the spacies comedy ever launched," with Pia Zadora as leading lady. Producer Max A. Keller said Zadora delivered "a brilliant performance," including a "tour de force" song-and-dance routine with some aliens. But the tale of an odd love triangle and 6-inch-high beings who turn human-sizedafter thawing from cold storage has vanished since undergoing a title change to "When the Rain Begins to Fall" (from a tune performed by Zadora and Jermaine Jackson that is featured in a rock video). A Rogers & Cowan spokesman said Zadora was unavailable for comment. Asked about the film -- which the P.R. company had eagerly hyped months earlier -- the spokesman added: "It's unclear what's happening right now. Test marketing showed that its appeal was to very young audiences. So it may go to TV instead of theatrical." |
