Pia Zadora's A M E R I C A N S O N G B O O K |
Comments : Pia Zadora's American Songbook is the first and only music video that has been released so far. It'd a 42 min. special featuring 11 songs from the Pia & Phil and I Am What I Am albums. Pia presents this special herself, all dressed up as a conductor (see the cover of Pia & Phil) and in between numbers, she explains a little bit about the songs. In the last song, she even brings on her little daughter Kady. Although there's an orchestra behind her on the stage, Pia doesn't sing live. She does change outfits for each song and has used gallons and gallons of hairspray. I mean, her hair doesn't move one inch during a song and it's really, REALLY high. At that time it must have been fashionable, but if you look at it nowadays, you see 80's kitch of the highest level. Don't take me wrong, I like this video, but I would have liked it better if it were a real live performance instead of an over-rehearsed studio production. |
