Adelard is unsure of his origins. According to his guardians, he was found as a baby after the Great War and taken back to the Island-Nation of Ithaca, over the sea. Having orcish blood in his veins, he quickly grew skilled in the art of the Warrior, and he soon rose to the position of Military Advisor to Telemachos, the King of Ithaca.
One day, when Telemachos was going to the seaport with Adelard in preparation of a possible alliance with Darkhaven, he was beset by a thieves guild. Adelard drew his sword and sprang after them, pursuing seven of the thieves into an alley and killing them. But when he returned, he found a thief hunched over the body of the King. He smote the thief, but Telemachos had been mortally wounded. In his dying words, he pledged Adelard to take the throne and keep it until his son, Harmon, had come of age.
Adelard travelled onwards to Darkhaven, arriving at the seaport of Ocean Keep after a long voyage. He met with Duke Luther, Lord of Darkhaven, and forged an eternal alliance with the Forces of Light. Luther inducted Adelard into the Guild of Warriors, so that he may protect the city during his stay. As he toured the city, he came to realise that Darkhaven Academy would be the ideal place to raise Harmon. Harmon also came to Darkhaven, but trained himself in the ways of the cleric, healing the sick.
When Harmon reached maturity, Adelard offered the throne of Ithaca back to its rightful owner, the heir to the house of Odysseus. Harmon graciously declined, and asked Adelard to deal with the administration of the nation-state. Adelard agreed, but he decided to remain in Darkhaven with his friends in the Darkhaven Guild of Warriors. He is usually seen Friday nights running quests for the Knights of the GoW.
Harmon the King of Ithaca
Harmon is the son of Telemachos, ruler of the Kingdom of Ithaca over the sea. Telemachos was killed many years ago by a Thieves guild. In his dieing words, King Telemachos had pledged his Military Advisor, Adelard, to take care of Harmon until he came of age.
When he reclaimed the throne of Ithaca, he was eternally grateful to Adelard for guiding him to maturity. He decided to let Adelard continue the administration of Ithaca from afar, so that he could explore the Realms of Despair without worrying about the duties of administration of a nation-state. Harmon now wanders the Realms, healing the sick and helping those in need.
