Thinking Is Relative! |
Author: Rahul Gupta |
We all think our parents are narrow-minded. Have we ever thought of what our parents used to think of their parents or what our children will think of us.
Never.
Thinking about it we will realize that our thinking does not run parallel with theirs at all. We all agree to the fact that the generation gap is increasing.
Visualize the situation our great great grandchildren will be in when dealing with their children.
The early society is described as one that was backward and ironhanded. We argue about many things with our parents and finally conclude that they are unfair.
The word freedom had its own limitations.
The future generation will think that our society will think that our society was unprogressive and benighted in their own way and they will have many reasons to support it which we would not comply with and term them as irrelevant.
Today if one sees a boy talking to a girl weird sorts of ideas enter in to one’s head. This thinking will not be carried forward by future generation. They will be more open towards such topics.
Long hair earlier among men was common. With time short hair became more common. Today if we see men with long hair we look upon him as a rock-star fan.
Wearing ear-rings is part of the rajasthani tradition but people wearing ear-rings in other parts of India are looked upon in an awkward manner.
We can remember many changes in thinking that have occurred since human evolution and can foresee many changes that will occur till life continues.
All I want to say is that thinking is relative. If we understand this fact we will all have lesser problems. We should not worry about the changes happening around us because if we are reasonable and rational enough we will ourselves realize that we are also responsible for the increasing of the generation gap.
So we should not blame our children for thinking differently. The generation gap is going to remain forever and for those who think it shouldn’t be there let me tell them that there would be no progress in the society.
One should always respect another person’s thinking and view because in time our views
Will be outdated and worn out. So as one saint has rightly said change with the time as time will not change for you.
