BRUSSELS, BELGIUM
April, 2001
The Grand Place or the grote market is the pivotal center of the city, from here, you could strike on foot all the major sights. | It is swarms by tourists despite a rainy day in Spring. I Ireally like the baroque splendour, gilded façades and narrow cobbled streets. |
Mannekin Pis. That is probably the most I wanted to see after I heard about the legend. It was terribly crowded that I have to wait to have a glimpse of him. It is a tiny bronze statuette, perched on a stone façade and pissing cheerfully down. | The TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse), this took us an hour from Paris to Gare du Midi in Brussels. |
