BRUSSELS, BELGIUM

April, 2001

The Grand Place or the grote market is the pivotal center of the city, from here, you could strike on foot all the major sights. It is swarms by tourists despite a rainy day in Spring. I Ireally like the baroque splendour, gilded façades and narrow cobbled streets.

Mannekin Pis. That is probably the most I wanted to see after I heard about the legend. It was terribly crowded that I have to wait to have a glimpse of him. It is a tiny bronze statuette, perched on a stone façade and pissing cheerfully down. The TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse), this took us an hour from Paris to Gare du Midi in Brussels.
