Tattoos: a work in progress! |
I got this tattoo in March 2001 at Electric Ink tattoo studio in Providence, RI. It was a flash, but I have wanted something like this for a while. It will tie in with all the other stuff I will eventually be getting on my back. This was done by Larry DiGuisto, and he is a fantastic artist. In this picture, you can see a little bit of my first tattoo, 11899, (Samantha's birthday) on my left arm. I still haven't taken any real pictures of that one :) |

October 19, 2001 |
So, this is my newest endeavor. I started my half-sleeve (it will extend down to my elbow) on October 19th, and I'm probably looking at close to 9 more hours of work. This section alone took 2 1/2 hours to do. There are two shades of blue in the background, and we will add another shade of blue on top of that in the future. The artist that is tattooing this also designed it, based on ideas I gave him (I can't draw to save my life). He did a wonderful job with it, and I am extremely pleased with the work thus far. In this picture, you can see my stars, my little rocket ship, Saturn, the symbol for the atom (that's the flowery looking thing at the bottom), and some random moons and asteroids. The little squiggle above Saturn is just that--a squiggle. It was a freehand spur of the moment thing, we'll have to wait and see where it goes. The artist that I am working with is a friend of mine, Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy has been tattooing underground in Boston for quite some time (tattooing has only been legal in Massachusetts since January 2001), and has a great reputation for being one of the best artists in the city. Check him out here: Chameleon Body Arts/ Jimmy We'll be working in two week intervals, to give time for my skin to heal, and to make it affordable for myself :) More pictures as events warrant. |
