I think every girl that played South Oldham soccer will testify that Tony was a Granddad to us all. I say this because I feel so blessed to have known him and was lucky enough to be spoiled by him. During tryouts we all looked forward to his famous peaches and on the bus to away games he would always pass around a bag of candy. In the four years I played, I can only remember two games he missed. Every other game, no matter what the weather, Tony was there on the sidelines cheering for us, celebrating our victories, and consoling all of us after a loss. Tony's involvement with South Oldham soccer has touched the lives of everyone involved; players, coaches, parents, and fans. I was lucky enough to have Tony in my life for over four years and I know the other girls I played with will agree with me that Tony has left a lasting impression on them. I don't think there was a senior that graduated that left Tony out of their banquet speech. Tony had a few children of his own but he had hundreds of granddaughters.
It is sad to lose someone so special, but he will always hold a place in my heart and in the hearts of all those connected to the Lady Dragons. He will always be our #1 fan.
