Scientist
Pipette and test tube

As the scientist, your role is to investigate issues involved with the process of genetic selection within a reproductive programme. Some of the questions you will need to consider are:

What is the scientific process of genetic selection?
Outline the likelihood of the transmission of cystic fibrosis to a child from parents who are both carriers of the disease.
Does the process remove only embryos which will develop into children with the disease or also those who will be carriers?
How accurate is the process?

Remember to investigate these issues from the perspective of a Scientist.
