Information
Oana Andrea Petrovschi (pronounced pe-trov-sky) was born on February 4, 1986 in Birlad, Romania. Her family is currently in Voiteg, Romania. Her mother is unemployed, but her step-father has a job, albeit a very low paying one. She has a seventeen-year-old brother from her "first" father. Oana is not very close to her biological father.
She initially tried out for the national team in 1998 but didn't make the cut. She perservered however, trying out again the next year and making it. Her most notable achievements have been being named to the alternate position at the 2000 Junior Europeans, and competing at the 2000 International Team Championships.

ProSport included a representative sample of the Romanian National Team's diet in one of thier articles, which is as follows (translated by Ioana Jadic):
Breakfast: low fat salami, pressed ham, bread, milk, tea
Lunch: boiled fish w/ baked potatoes, breaded or smoked chicken w/salad
Dinner: choice between pudding, yogurt, cheese or "papanasi" (baked doughnuts with cottage cheese in them is the best way to describe them)
