What Happened to Sundays Best?

Peter and Paul Ministries

Today more and more people no longer dress up for Church. Formal attire is not necessary but neat, clean, and respectful clothing is often ignored and replaced by too casual, shabby, and disrespectful attire. Torn jeans, short pants, t-shirts, and suggestive dress are now common place. People to this day still get dressed up to go to a formal dinner or for a special occasion but will not take the time to look presentable for our Lord.

Mass is not McDonald's, so we should not dress as if we were going to get a Big Mac and fries. One must remember that Mass is the Holy Sacrifice and it is celebrated in the House of God. We at Peter and Paul Ministries have attended Mass in many poor countries and have been impressed with the attention to detail, the formality, and awesome reverence shown by our less fortunate brethren. We think many Catholics in the United States could learn from their example.
