Fuel oil tank car nr.329. As a rule, the locomotives of the EFPP were converted to burn fuel oil. Exceptions were locos 17 and 18, that have kept their original wood combustion system. The source of fuel oil was at Perus, so there were some home-made tank cars used to transfer the oil. This car was a flat car with a tank over it. Photo by Fábio Dardes, Cajamar, 1975. |

Fuel oil tank car no. 400 “Charuto” (Cigar) Made in the EFPP shops, have the format that gave it this quickname. The format was very helpful to allow the thick oil to flow, without the use of serpentine. Its design has been successful, for it has operated until the end of operations, while others were scraped earlier.Photo by Fábio Dardes, Cajamar, 1975 |
