BIBLE-BASED 'KINGDOM' EDUCATION

"Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for such belongs the Kingdom of God". (Mark 10:14)

God has given us a mandate to educate and train our children (Prov 22:6, Deut 6:1-9, Eph 6:4). We are therefore committed, as leaders, to raise up children of Godly character. We desire to see children who know how to hear God's voice, who know His word and are flowing in His WISDOM. "Wisdom is the expression of God's character through the believer's words and actions. The measure of one's character is the measure of one's wisdom" (Dr D Howard of ACE). Our children need an impartation of Godly wisdom in addition to the facts and information they will learn.

The WISDOM from above is first PURE then PEACEABLE,
GENTLE, RESONABLE, full of MERCY and GOOD
FRUITS, UNWAVERING". (James 3:17)

We are called to lay foundations in their lives that will stand firm in every storm. Paul said, " .... The foundation is JESUS CHRIST" (1 Cor. 3:11)

We will seek to : Lead the children into intimate love-relationship with Jesus; teach them to know who they are in Jesus and what they can do IN Christ JESUS; enable them to discover their authority in Christ; bring them into a revelation that God's WORD is the final authority in their lives.

Jesus is RESTORING HIS CHURCH. He is coming back for a glorious church without spot or blemish or wrinkle. It will be a triumphant church. The gates of hell will not prevail against this army. Our Children will move in the supernatural. They will set the captives free. They will heal the brokenhearted. They will be overcomers. They will step out in faith and please God. They will be worshippers and intercessors before the throne of God. Our inheritance, with out children, is to REIGN AS KINGS IN THIS LIFE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS" (Romans 5:17).

"..... and the whole earth will be filled with the GLORY OF THE LORD".

NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS

Dear Parents

"A wise son maketh a glad father ...." (Prov 10:1)

"The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice and he that begetteth a wise child shall have the joy of him. The father and mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice". (Prov 23:24,25)

"Her children arise and call her blessed....." (Prov 31:28)

Anybody would want to claim theses promises for themselves and their children, but the road to these results is not easy. It takes 365 days a year for 18 to 21 years per child! That is 6570 to 7665 days of hard labour and committed love.

Realising that children are inherently rebellious by the sinful nature with which they are born ("Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him" - (Prov 22:15), we see that training invloves a two step process. Not only must a parent / teacher train a child in the way he should go, but he also needs to restrain a child from the way he naturally will go ("... a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame" - (Prov 29:15).

Training involves understanding the purpose for the correction, different forms of penalties, understanding guilt, confession and forgiveness. The very position of authority a parent or teacher holds, forms a child's picture and understanding of God the Father; so the way a child is restrained will either make or break that child's capacity for healthy spiritual maturation.

We, the staff of 'Abundant Life Christian School', accept your delegated responsibility which comes with being a part of your family, in helping to bring to fruition the above promises from Proverbs.

By the grace of God, we intend to be the best influence we can, presenting, through our lives and actions, a wholesome picture of Him that will have a constructive impact on the lives of the children entrusted to us.

In accordance with our Christian convictions, this school is a non-racial venture. We will make every effort to encourage each child to learn to treat fellow students fairly, to discipline when needed with understanding, firmness and love, and to make decisions in the best interests of each individual child.

EDUCATION

Education can be defined as equipping children for life in God's world. It is the impartation of knowledge and guidance towards life's objectives. It is a process of maturing and training in God's creation in a disciplined atmosphere.
