AWARDS |
Compiled by Michael Jachles and Paul Holt |
MVP- Michael Ian Black |
Coming off of stellar performances on "I Love the 80's" and "I Love the 70's," MIB did not disappoint as he put together quite possibly his best work of all time. The highlight of the show was clearly when he said "Atari is a joke. Atari is a sick joke compared to Colecovision. I spit on Atari." |
Rookies of the Year- Triumph the Insult Comic Dog... |
By far the best non-human interviewee of the series, Triumph brought his brash style of humor to the show which was clearly lacking a good insult comic. |
Female of the Year- Juliette Lewis |
Juliette contrasted the witty intelligent comments of others with an "I didn't know what was going on in the 80's but boy did I love it" attitude that produced some of the most humorous moments of the show. |
...and Flavor Flav |
After missing the first show due to an extended prison stint, this true 80's icon's nonsensical comments produced laughs that were even bigger than his famous oversized watch. |
Shut the Hell Up Award- Pink and Mandy Moore |
Both veterans of the original series that we prayed would not come back. Pink is quite possibly the most annoying person ever and brings absolutely nothing to the table. Though Mandy Moore provides occasional eye "candy," she was born in 1984 but for some reason acts like she is some sort of expert on 80's pop culture. |
Best Rants- Donal Logue |
Used sparingly in the original "I Love the 80's," Donal stepped his game up to a whole new level that no one even knew he had. His emotional rants, most notably his extended rant on Ronald Reagan's jellybean campaign, provide for some of the highlights of the show. |
Best Product Mentioned- Colecovision |
Biggest Ommission- Andrew Dice Clay aka The Dice Man |
Coming between Atari and Nintendo this shortlived video game system is often overlooked when debates about the best system of all time spring up. I really dont know why the telephone keypad style controller didn't catch on, but this product clearly had it goin' on. |
This 80's thug brought us Mr. and Ms. 198_ for every year in the original show with his famous brash style, but for some reason (possibly drug addiction), the producers decided not to bring this fan favorite back for round 2. |
Most Underrated- Craig Ferguson |
This British TV star's goofy accent and dry British wit make him one of the most underappreciated stars of the show. He also isn't afraid to talk openly about his addiction to everyone's favorite white collar drug, cocaine. |
Best Segment- "What the Fuck?" with Gilbert Gottfried |
Rhaspy-voiced 80's sensation Gilbert Gottried brings us a new "What the Fuck?" moment of the year in each episode highlighting a particularly illogical thing that happened each year. |
The Truth Award- Hal Sparks |
Willing to comment on every single topic, this all star holds nothing back. Constantly referencing his redneck upbringing and sharing embarassing stories from the 80's he is truly one of the brightest stars of the show. |
**There will be an "I Love the 80's Strikes Back" marathon at Michael Jachles's house over Thanksgiving break featuring everyone's favorite yuppie 80's beverage, "Bartles and James"** |
And now for Michael Jachles's unfinished thoughts on Mandy Moore... |
"How dare she reminisce about shit that she wasnt around for or was too young for? If i ever heard her talk about colecovision or like rick james or something i'd freak out." |
