Sassy Sausages
1 cup water
1/2 cup red cinnamon candies
Red food color
3 red tart apples, cored and cut into
1/2 inch rings
1 pound pork sausage links
3 tablespoons water
In skillet, heat 1 cup water, the cinnamon candies and few drops red food color until candies are melted. Place apple rings in syrup, cook slowly, turning occasionally, about  20 minutes or until tender.
Place links in another skillet, add 3 tablespoons water. cover tightly, cook slowly  8 minutes. Uncover, cook turning sausages until well browned. To serve insert hot sausage link in center of each apple slice.
