In 1996 we went on our second west coast vacation. We flew out of Boston to Portland, Oregon, again over the Labor Day holiday in September. it took us longer to drive to the resort that we had booked on the Oregon coast than we had planned. We got there late and exhausted, driving forever. We dragged our overpacked suitcases up a flight of stairs at 2:30 AM and crashed. The room was beautiful with a nice deck. We wer supposed to have a panaramic view of the Pacific Ocean on our 2 days that we booked but instead, we had 2 days of fog, couldn't see a thing.
