The Canadian White House Project (AKA, making Pasada's Barn) |

The ongoing project of converting the front shed to my barn! |
Day 1(pictured above): Pasada sweeps and vaccums away icky stuff(AKA spider, cobwebs, ect) and moves everything out. We go to Revy for a lighting fixture and come home with a $30 one, smaller and adjustable brightness, really easy to move if need be. Then we started painting! I choose white because it would give off the most brightness through the window(in the shade). We got 1/3 the shed done and Dad and I quit for the day and de-fume ourselves(closed space with no window!). |
Day 2: Dad, Mom, and I get painting, everything gets atleast one coat, other places get two(I got carried away, hehe). Door is finished, it's all very bright inside with the light! Dad had picked up our used window earlier in the morning(I was still sleeping). It's a little less then 44" x 62"!! Huge! In feet, it's about 3' x 5'!! |
Day 3: I haven't gone out and helped much today, Dad and a friend of his are putting the window in! The window is a sliding glass one, with a screen(typical). So, Dad and Jerry(the friend, also our sound system guy) cut the hole in the side of my 'barn'(I'm so pysched to say that! It's actually true! Not like that fake barn, AKA garage!!). It was HUGE!! Wow! It was gigantic! I didn't realize how big that window was! LOL. Anyways, turned off the light and looked how much sunlight that would let in(it's in a shady area). I might aswell not use the light in the barn during the day! It let in *a lot* of sunlight, but it was all shady, it's hard to explain. |
Conversation with Dad and I on the first day. |
P= Pasada; D=Dad |
P: Dad, if someone came up to you 4 years ago and told you that in 4 years your daughter would be breeding rabbits, would you believe them? D: Well, to tell you the truth, I thought you'd be more into horses. P: Really? That's funny. I guess I was into them then, but it costs so much to breed horses compared to rabbits! Haha. If someone came up to you, oh, 2 years ago and told you that in 2 years you'd be converting the front shed into a barn for your daughter, would you believe them? D: I'd tell them they were nuts! No one takes my shed! P: Hehehe!!! Hey Dad, if someone came to you right now and told you that in 2 years you'd be building your daughter a full-fledged barn in the back property, what would you say? D: No way!!! (walking away) P: HAHAH!!! Nah, I don't think so either, I'll just be taking over the garage again...(added, whispering) and you'd have your own rabbitry! |
Day 4: I wasn't here to help out today(PLAYLAND ROCKS!!), but my dad and his friend Jerry are helping again, to secure the window and such. I came home, and WOW! It's looking good! They also gave me lighting! Yay! Plus, 6 electric plugs! |
Day 5: I was all by myself today, painting. I painted the support beams(some of them) deep blue, and the door's supports aswell. It's looking really good! I'm really looking forward to finishing this and moving the bunnies inside! |
