| SE's Hidden Valley Ranch |
| Ranch was born 04/05/01 to Eclipse and Sam with 6 other siblings(2 that weren't alive). Eclipse did a very good job as a mommy, except that she left Ranch's placenta on! It was Day 2, I was waiting for Eclipse to nibble it off, but she wouldn't, and Ranch was suffering from that and being slowed down. So, that grusome day, I had to cut it. BLACH! Got blood squirted all over me! Anyways! Ranch is a wierd one. She's a blue frosted pearl(my fav type of frosty!). Since that day as the smallest of the litter and a newly severed placenta and a brand spanking new belly button, she grew to be the biggest of the litter, and my favorite! She was the sold too, and her story is amazing. She was renamed "...Hoppy Jennifer Shmoke. Jennifer after the nice lady that gave us Hoppy!" (I didn't protest the name, free advertising! LOL). To continue, Hoppy lives with two little boys. The youngest(and the one that picked out Hoppy) is in Grade 1, the eldest is in Grade 2, and is autistic. To my relief at such a special rabbit, they made her a house pet. Here's where the story gets interesting. Throughout Hoppy's life, she ahd been a smart rabbit, but I hadn't litter trained her or anything(unless you call that tissue paper box for playing in a litter box!). As soon as she was in her new home, she litter trained herself! Her cage is one flight of stairs up. When she has to go defecate or urinate, she runs upstairs, does her business, and runs down again. I really want to see that! The autistic child has been told to never pick up or hold Hoppy(for the rabbit's own protection), but Hoppy would have none of that! Whenever the child sits beside Hoppy's cage quietly(a feat for him), she hops out of her cage, looks at him funny, then hops in his lap and pushes at his hand to be petted! She's always be demanding of her pats, so I found it great that she continued to be like that. I haven't got an updated pic of Hoppy(AKA Ranch) yet, but I will when I can. And for all those people that don't believe you can potty train a rabbit, here's your proof! I'm going on 8 rabbits and counting since I started with Rah's Razzle Dazzle! |
