The TV series aired from April 1st, 1998 to September 30th, 1998 every Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM on TV Tokyo.
Here is a chart with episode and character listings plus more. It also has the Japanese for those of you who are interested and have browsers that can support it. If you can't view Shift-JIS, or EUC, go to NJStar Or if you have MSIE 5.0+ you can set up software to view most languages.
The music for the opening is done by Yoko Kanno, and sung by Maya Sakamoto. The ending theme is done by Arai Akino, and vocals are by Chie Ishibashi. All other music is by Kaoru Wada.
The opening is beautiful, and it does a great job of setting the mood for the series.
Direction: Nobuhiro Takamoto
Screenplay: Katsumi Hasegawa (El-Hazard, Blue Gender) and a few others.
Animation Production: AIC (Anime International Company) Probably known best for Tenchi Muyou!
Character Design: Kazuhiro Soeta (Original), Takashi Azumano, Toshiko Sasaki
The distinction is nice, so to make this clear: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight is based off of the manga which was based off of a couple of the novels. Because of this, there are a lot of differnt character designers. All of the art for the novels was done by Yutaka Izubuchi. The Chronicles of the Heroic Knight manga is done by Masato Natsumoto.

If you don't already know, the TV series is a continuation of the OAVs. It disregards the OAV storyline from episode 8 to episode13.
Back in Parn's home village of Zaxon, Shiris and Orson arrive from Alan to collect taxes (they haven't met Parn and the rest yet). Zaxon has claimed itself independant from Alan, and refuses to pay. This leads to some trouble between Cecil (a sorcerer left in charge when Slayn is out) and the mercs. Parn and Deedlit arrive, and after a battle where Orson goes berserk, they all become friends.
Slayn arrives back in Zaxon, and tells the group of Ashram's plans. They decide to set out to Flaim to enlist the help of King Kashue. Shiris and Orson join up, and they leave. As soon as they get there, a dispute erupts - which Parn settles, and the whole group's escorted to Castle Akroyd. They dicuss the situation, and decide to split into two groups: one to go to Blue Dragon Island where the water-dragon Abram lives, and the other to Fire Dragon Mountain where Shooting Star lives. Parn, Deed, and Kashue go to Fire Dragon Mountain, and Orson, Shiris and Cecil go to Blue Dragon Island. A grassrunner named Maar joins up, and they're captured by pirates.
When Ashram slays Abram, they find out he didn't have the Scepter after all. He had the Soul Crystal Ball which Gloder takes to give to Wagnard.
Parn and the others are in a tight spot after Shooting Star swears to wreak vengence on them and flies off. "A hundred humans for every scale scratched." With nothing more they can do, they head off to Raidan. There, Slayn tells them Orson's group has been caught. They rescue the others, and return to Fire Dragon Mountain to prevent Ashram from getting the Scepter.
The Marmo and Parn's group fight Shooting Star, and Deed is the one who finishes him. Ashram heads for the Scepter, and Parn seeing this, engages him. He knocks the Scepter into the lava, where it sinks; lost forever.
That's all for now. If you want the second part of the series, it'll be up later.
Animerica has had two reviews on Lodoss TV now. There was one in VOL. 7, Issue 7 and VOL. 8, Issue 11 with a spot-light review (not the cover feature, but mentioned there) with the character descriptions and everything in VOL. 7, Isuue 7. In VOL. 8, Issue 11, they had an interview with Ryo Mizuno and a review for the last set (Birth of a New Knight, dubbed). I'll get them scanned for anyone who wants it.
OAV Characters:
A lot of the old characters are back along with a lot of new ones. If you want more info on one, just click on their names. Some of the characters don't have any info, so click on the name-links only. This is more thn obvious for most people, and I apoligize. But for some people it isn't.
