I See You There

I see you there
behind bars of steel
my heart cries out to Heaven
can this be real?

I see you there
the soul of my heart
how could this have happened
to tear us apart?

I see you there
the child of my life
and wonder why there is always
so much pain in your life.

I see you there
the man that was a boy
and see your lonely tears
that used to be of joy.

I see you there
your heart full of pain
and wish it could wash away
with the next falling rain.

I see you there>
with hope in your eyes
and know tht one day soon
the clouds will clear the sky.

I see you there
but not for long
for you are the best of me
the part that is strong.

I see you there
with God's forgiving love
and know that He's protecting you
from high up above.

An Angel of Sorts

I met an angel....of sorts
for she has no wings
but to my life
happiness she brings.

I met an angel....of sorts
for no halo has she
yet her glow shines
for all the world to see.

I met an angel....of sorts
though no white tunic gown
she's always lifting spirits
never putting down.

I met a lady with a heart so warm
she has a soul of gold
so I guess that she really is
an angel from the fold.

Something In The Eyes

Something in the eyes
made me stop and stare
something in the eyes that
that said I care.

Something in the eyes
reached out to me
something in the eyes
made me feel free.

Something in the eyes
that brought a tear
Something in the eyes
that made me hear.

Something in the eyes
right from the start
something in her eyes
reached out and touched my heart.

The Heart

One day as I was standing
all alone and down
the heart I'd always dreamed of
fell in front of me on the ground.

I picked it up and opened it
not sure if it could really be
a heart so pure and full of love
a love just for me.

I closed my eyes
very, very tight
afraid that it may
disappear in the days light.

When I opened them again
much to my surprise
there it was in my hands
it wore no disguise.

It sent a truth
all through me
that never before
did I ever see.

It told me it had been
waiting for me to find
the truth within myself
that rare, special kind.

The heart smiled at me and said
"What took you so long?
I've been here waiting and waiting
I thought you had gone."

I held the heart so tenderly
yet close to me and tight
Said to it,"Just struggling
through the darkness of night."

"For that is all my life was
up until you came now
I've been trying to find you
all through life somehow."

Then the heart said to me
"Love me always and care
stand always beside me
and our love we will share."

So on that day so bright
I absorbed the heart
and made it a part of me
so we'd never be apart.

The heart is still here
deep inside of me
and our love shines out
for all the world to see.
