The 9th Texas Artillery is a non-profit educational organization designed to educate its members and the public about life in both the Union and Confederate armies during the period of 1861-1865, the War Between the States.
Persons of all ages are welcome but must be able to march and carry either a weapon or flag. Women are invited to join as wives and camp followers and are required to dress in period clothing also. Musicians are greatly needed to relive the musical aspects of the time period. Members are not required to own period clothing upon joining but are expected to acquire such items as early as possible in order to portray and re-enact the era properly. Because of the high expense of re-enacting and reliving history, membership dues are only $10 per family at this time.
Cognizant of the great sacrifice made by our forefathers, the 1st strictly forbids and abhors the use of any Confederate symbol to promote racism or discrimination against anyone.
