This takes aout a dozen folks and all you need is a soccer or playground ball (although a couple of noice makers adds to the atmosphere) All players but one stand in a circle facing out, they spread thier feet out as wide as is comfortable so that each players feet touches the feet of the players on either side.Everyone in the circle bends down with thier arms swinging between thier legs, they are the flippers and the other play who is in the center of the circle is the target that they try to hit. Whoever scores takes his/her place in the center. Even without the bussers and bells this game has distraction factors of it's own, blood rushing to the head for the flippers and alot of moonshine for the target. The BlobI like to group games together so that one sets the stage for the next. The Blob begins what I like to call the Lowlife trilogy, this is because they simulate existance on the celular level. The Blob starts out like a regular game of tag, however when "it" being the blob, tags someone they do not exchange roles ( "now your it") but like the big ooze "it" absorbs the victim making them part of itself. Now, holding hands they go after new victims so that the blob starts to become a long chain of "its". When the blob reaches a number of five or more it can devide into two parts and then begin using strategy to hunt down the rest of the human race. The end is unavoidable as a sole remaining human is hunted down. (defined limits to the play area is suggested.)The Ameoba gameNow that all players have been digested into a simple celular existances it.s really time to see how the basic being lives by becoming a giant ameoba. An Ameoba is made of three parts, or three kinds of people. First thiers the protoplasma, this is made up of people who don't mind getting up close and personal, Then thiers cell walls, facing outward these players link arms at the elbow and contain all those protoplasma into one close tight entity. Finally thier is the nucleus, one player with good eyes and the ability to stay ontop of things (namely the protoplasma) So we have a giant ameoba, and just getting accross the field should be a learning experience in biology. If you get the hang of it, you can progress to a little cell devision and split into two ameobas, alittle shifting of position and hoist one more player up onto the shoulders of the new creatures plasma and your ready to try a race. Rock/Paper/Scissors the team game For those who forget the routine a fist is rock, a hand held flat is paper and two fingers make a set of scissors, and least we forget the formula paper covers rock, rock smashes scissors and scissors cuts paper. So far just like a game between individuals the team game remains the same in the familier chant of Rock/scissor/ paper and then throw out your hand with the symbol of your choice, In this case the symbol decided in a team huddle before the play. Both teams face off along a center line with each having a free zone some ten yards off on either side of the line. In the huddles each time has decided on a symbol to use (and a second symbol incase of a tie where both teams have throw the same symbol) as the chant is said and the hands shoot out each team member must quickly see if his symbol is the winner or loser, because if you have a inferrior symbol (like rock being covered by thier paper) you have to run for the hills (or better yet your teams free zone) before being tagged out by a member of the other team.Squirrel and FoxesThis, along with rattlers, goes along good with human pin ball because it's played in a circle. This time everyone stands upright and faces in. This are two balls of the same color and a third ball (or better yet a throw pillow size bean bag) that is a differrent size and color. The balls are passed either clockwise or counterclockwise around the circle, from hand to hand with each player passing it directly to the player on thier right or left. Thesetwo balls are the foxes and they are trying to catch/tag the squirrel. The game is won when a player holding the squirrel bag/ball is tagged witha fox ball. Sounds unfair? not really because the squirrel can leap (be thrown) about the circle cutting through it's center. It's exciting especially when a fox sympathiser tosses the squirrel into the heart of the pack. Rattlers In this one the human circle serves as the play bounderies as two players are blindfolded in the center of the circle. Each of the hoodwinked players carries a can filled with beans as a rattle and when one rattles the can the other must respond by rattling back. One player is the prey and may rattle as often as they dare in order to ascertain thier hunters location. But the hunter who must catch or tag the prey is limited to five shakes of her rattle.
