This celebrated Marathi singer of abhangas is the greatest of Maharashtra's saints. His hymns (about 4,500) are full of his personal religious experience and so are of a very high order. They are sung with great delight even today. In his own life, the Lord tested him in several ways through domestic misery and opposition from conventional orthodoxy. Thukaram greatly revered Swami Samarth Ramdas.
