Ramdas was the most revered guru of Sivaji. From age 12 to 24 he performed a severe penance at the end of which he had the vision of Lord Rama. He popularized the 13-lettered mantra "SREE RAMA JAYARAMA JAYA JAYA RAMA". He upheld the philosophy of activism. In his most important work 'Dasabodh', he guides humanity in its quest for both material and spiritual goals. He founded a distinct school of thought by his dynamic and forceful peresonality, devoted life and organisational skill. He travelled throughout India for 12 years, spreading his wisdom, scholarship and spirituality.
