Ramaprasad

As a revivalist, from Bengal, of the Sakti cult, Ramaprasad had no desire to preach or become  a missionary. He was a silent seeker after Truth. But the captivating style of his poems, known for their alliteration, rhyme and lucidity, have penetrated the far-flung villages of Bengal. With him, the ancient Sakti cult was modernized by a blending with Satvik Bhakti, especially after the Chaitanya movement. Sri Ramakrishna was greatly influenced by Ramaprasad's songs.
