Raidas

Also known as Ravidas, this saint came from a poor family of cobblers and was one of the finds of  Swami Ramananda. To him God was everything. Except the body there was no difference between man and God, he preached. His exalted spiritual life and purity of heart are reflected in his hymns in praise of the Lord which were very popular. About 30 of them have found a place in the Granth Sahib of the Sikhs. He is said to have initiated Mirabai, the mystic, royal poet-singer saint of Rajasthan, in the art of devotional music.
