Vanda Hadarean's Biography

Vanda Maria Hadarean was born in Cluj on May 3, 1976. She moved
to Deva in 1989 to join the national team when she was just 13. She was
a member of the 1991 Worlds team & the 1992 Olympic team. Vanda
will always be remembered for her beautiful long lines, graceful dance
& amazing flexibility. Sadly, she retired in 1993 when she was only 17.
In the mid 1990's she moved to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to coach at
Mountain Star Gymnastics. Cristina Bontas joined her there not long
afterwards. But things were rough for Vanda in Canada so when the
offer came from Moceanu Gymnastics, Inc. to coach at their new gym
in Houston, Texas, she took it. She was living in Kingwood, Texas for a
long time, but things changed once Moceanu Gymn. closed. She was
forced to return to Romania & move in with her parents, brother &
sister in Cluj. She accepted a job in March 1999 at the EOS Aerobic
Club, where she teaches aerobics every day for 3 hours. However,
Vanda is looking foward to returning to the USA. She's been offered
a coaching job in South Carolina & will leave Romania once all the
immigration preparations are final. In late 1999, Vanda posed for
Romanian Playboy & the photos appeared in the September 2000 issue.
In October 2000, she was offered a coaching job in Canada & it's
uncertain yet if she'll accept it or not.
