Maria Neculita's Biography

Maria "Daisy" Neculita was born on March 31, 1974 in Hunedoara. She
began gymnastics at Cetate Deva, where her favorite event was beam.
Marian was a member of the 1991 Worlds team where she placed 3rd.
with her team. She backed up this strong performance by earning a place
on the 1992 Olympic team, where she & her teammated took the silver
medal. Shortly after the 1992 Olympics she retired at age 18. It was
last reported in early 1999 that she was coaching in Italy.
