Lavinia Milosovici's Biography

Lavinia Corina Milosovici was born in Lugoj on October 21, 1976. Her
parents are Tanase & Ildiko & she has one older brother named Cristian.
Her family currently lives in Orsova. She began gymnastics at the age of 6
when she was selected for the Deva training center. When she was 9 she
developed Scarlet Fever & almost had to quit the sport. Her favorite gymnast
is Nadia Comaneci, who inspired her to start in gymnastics. Lavinia's favorite
events were vault & floor. She was a member of every Worlds team from
1991-1996 & both Olympic teams during those years (1992 & 1996). In
1995 she finished high school, where her favorite subjects were Romanian
& Biology. Her hobbies include music & movies. She likes detective &
action movies & her favorite actor is Jean Claude van Damme. Lavinia's
favorite food is french fries & of all the places she's been, her favorites are
Italy, France, Japan & the USA. At age 19, Lavinia was 5'1" tall & 108
pounds. Shortly after the 1996 Olympics, she retired. She was almost 20.
She studied for a while at the University of Timisoara & then was coaching
the junior national team in Deva. She recently quit coaching at Deva though
because she claims the RGF hasn't paid her or teammate Gina Gogean, who
was also coaching the juniors, their salaries in over 4 months.  On
October 23, 1999 she married her longtime boyfriend, Cosmin Vinatu, a
police officer in Timisoara. The couple now lives in Timisoara.
