Loredana Boboc's Biography | ||||
Loredana Boboc was born in Bucharest on May 12, 1984. She made her debut on the Romanian National Team in 1997, but missed all of 1998. She came on strong in 1999 however & ended up making her first Worlds team. Even though Octavian Belu said Loredana would probably not make another Worlds team or an Olympic team, she proved herself worthy through the year 2000, placing well in nearly every competition she competed in...& eventually earned a spot on the 2000 Olympic team. Currently, Loredana is 4'7" tall & weighs 73 pounds (1,40m & 33kg). Around the end of February or beginning of March 2001, Loredana was apparently "dismissed" from Deva by head coach Octavian Belu. She returned home to Bucharest. Since then Octavian had been trying to talk her into returning to Deva & after a few weeks she agreed to return to the National Team. After the 2001 Worlds, she was plagued with injuries like many of her teammates, & in August 2002 she announced her official retirement at age 18. last updated: August 20, 2002 |
