Ionescu have retired.
August 2, 2002 ~ With several retirements & injuries, it's been hard to keep up with
         who's training at Deva & who's not. Here's the latest list of 18 gymnasts who
         are currently at Deva:
Andreea Raducan, Sabina Cojocar, Oana Ban, Ioana
         Petrovschi, Melina Druta, Elena Velicu, Larisa Apostol, Florica Leonida,
         Alexandra Eremia, Monica Rosu, Madalina Rapeanu, Iuliana Chindea,
         Dana Sofronie, Andreea Munteanu, Eleonora Dragnea, Roxana Becheanu,
         Corina Bucurean & Silvia Stroescu
(still recovering from a back injury, but
         she is back training with the team). This information is courtesy of

~ Nicoleta Onel told me today that her gymnasts which she's coaching
         in United Arab Emirates have won every competition they've entered & they
         still have a couple more to go!!! Congratulatio

02 ~ Eugenia Golea & her boyfriend Tony are no longer together.

January 24, 2002 ~ Accordin
g to Nicoleta Onel herself, in early February she will
         travel to Italy to visit her boyfriend & some old teammates who coach there.
         After her vacation, she'll resume coaching in United Arab Emirates. Her young
         gymnasts have their first competition in early March & she is very excited.

January 23, 2002 ~ It was reported on
the International Gymnast website earlier this
         week
that Andreea Isarescu has officially retired. She had resumed training only
          to decide it was too much. She's now back in Onesti attending high school &
         occasionally working out at CSS Onesti. Current national team mem
bers
         Sabina Cojocar, Carmen Ionescu & Silvia Stroescu
are recovering from
         various injuries. See
