Elena Oprea's Biography

Elena Oprea was born in Constanta on March 16, 1984. She began
her gymnastics career at Farul Constanta & was a member of the
national team from 1997-1999. She medaled at the 1996 Junior
Nationals & seemed to be a rising hope for Romania. However, it was
reported in early 1999 that Elena left the Deva training center & returned
to Constanta to her home gym. This move basically meant she was off
the national team for good. She was only 15.
