Elena Ceampelea's Biography

Elena Ceampelea was a fabulous gymnast of the 1960's & 1970's. She
was a member of the 1964 & 1972 Olympic teams & also of the 1966,
1970 & 1974 World Championship teams. Since Elena's retirement,
she has been one of only a few Romanian gymnasts to remain in the
country. It was last noted in early 1999 that she was coaching junior
national team members in Bucharest at the Army Sports Steaua club.
