Some of the symptoms of an attack


1) Shortness of breath or feelings of smothering

2) Dizziness, unsteady feelings, faintness or light-headedness

3) Choking sensations, difficulty swallowing, feeling your throat is closing or feeling something is caught in your throat

4) Palpitations - feeling your heart is beating so hard and fast that it is going to jump out of your chest

5) Increased heart rate

6) Trembling or shaking

7) Abdominal distress including cramping, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

8) Numbness or tingling sensations especially of the hands and feet but also of the head or face

9) Hot flashes or chills

10) Sweating

11) Severe, crushing chest pains with the feeling that you are having a heart attack and that you are about to die

12) Fear that you are dying

13) Fear that you are going crazy or you are going to lose control of yourself and go berserk, make a fool of yourself or embarrass yourself

14) Blurred vision

15) Headache

16) Derealization - feelings of unreality, things around you don't appear real, things might look different or feel different, time seems to slow down and everything appears to be in slow motion, sounds might get louder or softer even though you know the intensity is not changing, objects might appear brighter or duller, or might appear larger or smaller even though you know the object is not changing

17) Depersonalization - feeling that you are outside your body looking back at it, or feeling like your arms and legs are detached from your body or like they belong to someone else.
