1. What the heck is Paloma?:

It is a meeting of minds between respected Canadian rockers 54º40,
and jazz-trained vocalist Coco Love Alcorn. After a year long tour
together 5 musicians snuck away into the Smilin' Buddha Enjoyment
Complex and formed a side-project now known as Paloma. The word
is spanish for 'dove'...fitting since the sound is heavenly.

2. Who's in it?:

Coco Love Alcorn- Vocals
Neil "Dr. No" Osborne- Keyboards
Phil Comparelli- Keyboards
Brad Merritt- Bass
Matt Johnson- Drums

3. What do they sound like?:

In short: nothing like 54º40. The sound is trippy, mellow, and
electronic. Reminiscent of 'The Supreme Beings Of Leisure', Paloma
combines Coco's soaring vocals with the boys' rhythmic melodies.

4. Did 54º40 lose it completely?:

Nope! 54º40 is still alive and rocking on tour in support of
their most recent album Casual Viewin'. They just decided to
expand their musical horizons a little, that's all.

5. Where can I get the CD?:

The Paloma CD is available in most record stores accross Canada or
online at
Paloma.ca.

6. When can I see them live?:

Paloma has finished touring with The Casual Viewin' Pop Experience.
There is no word on whether there will be more live shows. Keep
checking in with
Paloma news for the latest updates.

7. Is there any other Paloma merchandise?:

Not right now, but maybe later.

8. Are they any good?:

Why don't you buy a CD and find out for yourself?

9. No really, are they any good?:

You bet! They may sound absolutlely nothing like conventional 54º40,
but that's the point! The sound is fresh, funky, and very cool.

10.You sure? I mean, are you an expert or something?:

I'm as close as you're going to get, but if you don't want to take my
word for it, you can listen to one of Paloma's songs at
Farmclub.com.
