it over the green parts of the herb you are using. make several
cups and keep in a tight jar. It's best to use a glass pot and
before you use the infusion strain it into a glass. If you are
curing a cold take while hot, but not more then 4 cups a day.

Decoction: This method of extraction is to remove the medicine
from the roots or other woody substances, requires boiling the
barks, etc, in a glass pot for about 10 min. then straining into
a covered jar. If there are green parts with the wood boil these
starting with cold water. Make about 2 cups and store as you
would an infusion.

water as you do for an infusion. Keep the water cold and in a
glass pot. let the vegetable matter sit in the water for the day
before straining and using.

Ointment: Mix one part powder with three parts petroleum jelly
after it'sbeen heated and melted. When mixed and cooled the
ointment can be used on your skin.

Poultice: Boil herbs or bark. Then either wrap the bark around
the spot you are treating or take a cloth and dip it into the
liquid and put it around the sore. Poultices are good for chest
complaints or sores or bites and other intrusions on the limbs.
