Requesting Wisdom
This ritual is for receiving wisdom from Lord Ganesha, the God of Wisdom. Light two white candles on either side of a statue or picture of Ganesha. Spend some time discussing what kind of wisdom you wish to attain. Light the candles.
"Wise Ganesha, great counselor,
Teach me waking and sleeping.
Send me omens true and dreams wise,
Instruct me in your great wisdom.
I open my heart and mind to you, Wise One.
I ask for your all-knowing counsel and guidance,
That my good may come quickly!"
Light some incense and do a tarot spread to divine the outcome of your goal.
"Grant skills of the hands and justice,
Lord Ganesha, make me wise.
Protection, all of the wonderful arts,
Are yours to bestow, Great Ganesha.
You who are both skillful and strong,
Guide my steps, keep me from wrong.
I thank you Ganesha for your blessings."
Let the candles burn out completely, or snuff them out and reuse them in another Ganesha wisdom ritual.

Ganesha Lord of Wisdom
Call the corners and then stand in the center facing North. Cast a triple circle. Say:
"In Ganesha is a balance of power and wisdom.
I encircle myself with balance
Within this circle of balance,
May Ganesha and all the Gods he protects
Help me to draw upon infinite wisdom and power."

"Hail to thee Lord Ganesh!
Hearken to my call, instruct me in all things.
May the silver Moon send me mystical energies.
May its luminous rays bless me,
Dreams float on its shimmering light.
Visions and intuition--
Of this I ask, Bless me Ganesh."

Go to the EAST and draw a pentacle in the air.
"I call upon Ganesh and all the Gods of Air
To send eloquence and new ideas."
Go to the SOUTH and draw a pentacle in the air.
"I call upon Ganesh and all the Gods of Fire
To send me willpower, determination, and fresh goals."
WEST:
"I call upon Ganesh and all the Gods of Water
To send psychic knowledge and great skill
In all my magickal workings."
NORTH:
"I call upon Ganesh and all the Gods of Earth
To send me practical skills."

Got to the altar and light some incense to Ganesha.
"Lord of Holy Books, Healing, and Learning,
I greatly need your aid.
I seek knowledge and success.
I seek healing and psychic powers.
Teach me the ancient knowledge,
And grant me power and wisdom to use it wisely."

Now is the time to concentrate on raising power and when finished, ground it by placing your hands on the ground. Say the following:
"Truth is revealed, magick expands,
Good health and fortune flow from your hands,
Honor and riches, these are my right,
Pour out your blessings, shower me with light."
Before you close the circle, sprinkle some grains of rice before the statue of Ganesha and say:
"I thank you for your attendance,
My Beloved Ganesha,
And honor you every day."

Spell for Productive Studying

Light a purple candle whenever you study. Light some incense and meditate on your studying goal and then say:
"Ganesha Lord of Wisdom, to you I pray.
My mind clear and receptive stay;
All in true accord with thee,
As my word, so mote it be.
Give me light! Blessed be."

To Gain Prophecy

This method of scrying can be very effective. The spell should be done during the Waxing or Full Moon, or preferrably on Samhain. Fill your cauldron half-full of water and place it on a table, or floor where you can see comfortably into it while seated. Light two purple candles and burn peppermint or mugwort incense. The candle light should not shine into the water or your eyes. Focus your attention on the bottom of the cauldron, your hands placed lightly on either side. Breathe gently onto the water. Say:
"Cauldron, reveal to me
That which I seek.
Great Ganesha, open my inner eye
That I may truely see."

Empty your mind, and remain relaxed while looking deep into the cauldron water. The answers may come in images in the water, pictures in your mind, strong bursts of "knowing", or intense feelings. When finished, record your visions to analyze later, and thank Ganesha for sharing his knowledge with you.

To Learn the Truth

Light altar candles (colors of your choice) and light incense. Meditate on the subject about which you wish to learn the truth. Light petitioners candle (a candle representing yourself). Say:
"This candle I light to represent myself.
It burns as does the spirit.
It is as myself in all things.
Light 2 white candles and say:
"These are the symbols for truth.
They are enjoined about(your name)
And to me show all truth."

Recite this poem:
"As I rock in the night
'Cross the brown heath bare,
In the bright moons light saw a castle fair;
Lords and ladies, great and small,
Where crowding in, 'twas a festival,
Grasses in the wind are waving.
They bade me welcome and I went
To drink their wine to my heart's content.
I danced and laughed with the ladies fair.
Ne'er in my life had I such cheer;
Grasses in the wind are waving.
Then all at once there came a cry:
Haro by yaro! Asleep fell I,
While a lady dancing at my side
Seemed like a lizard away to glide;
Grasses in the wind are waving.
I woke in the early light of day,
In an olden ruin I did lay,
O'er the rock and into the sun
I saw a green-gold lizard run!
Grasses in the wind are waving.
Now the truth I know and it stays with me,
For I have seen what I did see,
All secret knowledge came to mind,
Borne on laughter of the other kind;
Grasses in the wind are waving."
Sit in quiet contemplation. In this time will the truth of the subject in question come to you. Extinguish the candles.

A Spell to Improve Study Habits

You will need a handful of rosemary (for conscious focus), fresh is best however, dried will do; a small jar with a lid; and some flower petals.
As you pluck each petal and put them in the jar, meditate on improving your study habits. When your petals and rosemary are mixed completely, hold your hands over the container and bless it by saying:
"Lord Ganesha,
God of the mind and learning,
Help keep my mind on my work.
When I get distracted,
Let the magic within this mixture
Get me back on track, and my focus sure.
Blessed Be."
When you need to use the mixture to come back into focus, release a pinch of it to the wind any time you feel restless and unable to concentrate. This invokes Ganesha's assistance and releases the magic you need.

Memory and Wisdom Spell

Light a candle either blue, yellow, or green. Gaze into the candle flame and chant:
"Oh Lord Ganesha, God of old,
Help me to write on this paper bold,
For only me to see,
Help this paper remind me!
So mote it be!"
Draw a pentagram on the paper. Imagine energy pouring into the paper and fold five times. Let the candle burn out, thank Ganesh, and keep the paper on you at all times.

Memory Rite

This ritual is to discover any repressed or denied memories. Be careful with is one, because we don't always know what we have tried to block out. You need a box with a lid, a yellow candle, and incense. Paint the inside of the box a glossy black, or cover it with foil. Decorate outside with flowers, drawings, pictures, anything child-like. Light the candle and incense. State your intent:
"It is my will to greet my past,
And accept it for what it is."

"I call the past to meet the present,
That the future may be bright.
I bring myself forth from the dark,
And hold me to the light.
Let not the past control my present,
Let not my future be dark as night.
I meet and greet Me with open arms,
And move back into the light."
Sit in the centre of the circle and keep the box closed, focusing on it. Remember all the nasty, hurtful things anyone has said to you in your life and let the negative energy build up inside you. Now remember the most horrible things. Open the box and gaze inside and SEE what's inside. After you see the vision or image, close the box and either destroy it or save it for another time to repeat the ritual.
