Hike to the northern most tip of the Point Reyes peninsula to where Tomales Bay meets the ocean. This is a mild 10 miler with spectacular views and wildlife sightings. Meet at 11:00 at the Pierce Point Ranch parking lot. Hike will begin at 11:15. The drive from San Francisco takes about 1 1/2 hours. Please contact me if you can offer a ride to a carpooler. Follow directions to Ross via Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Take a left onto Lagunitas Rd and follow all the way until it ends into Phoenix Lake Parking lot. This lot fills up early, so we're hiking early. Meet in lot at 9:30am. Hike begins 9:45. Moderate 8-10 miles hike around the lakes of Tam. For info contact Colleen at colleen_oshea@yahoo.com
August 26 Sunday - Butano State Park.
12 mile hike through spectacular redwood forests and ocean view in this little visited coast side park near Half Moon Bay. Direction: 280 to Hwy 92 to Hwy 1 South, left on Pescadero Rd thru town, right on Cloverdale Rd. to Park. Meet 11 am. at the park entrance; hike leaves at 11:15. Hike along the beach
and up into the hills on this strenuous 10 mile hike. This is a beautiful
hike combining the beach with lush forests and open hills. Meet at 11:00
at the Limantour Beach parking lot; hike leaves at 11:15. Take 101 north
to Sir Frances Drake, go west to Olema. At Olema, turn right and go 1/8 mile
then turn left at Pt.Reyes sign. Follow road to Limantour Beach. Drive takes

A different Muir Beach hike, up Coastal to Cardiac Hill (great views) and back along Muir Woods via the Dipsea and Redwood Creek trails. Moderate/Strenuous difficulty, 1500ft of climbing. Meet in the Muir Beach parking lot at 10:30am; hike leaves at 10:45. Bring lots of water, lunch/snacks, sunscreen. For more info contact Chris K. at chriskly@home.com
September 22 Saturday - Redwood Park
Berkeley/Oakland hills hike. From Bay Bridge follow 580 to Oakland, take
the 35th Ave exit, turn left and head east towards hills (becomes Redwood
Road). Cross Skyline Blvd and go 2 miles to the MacDonald Staging Area parking
lot on the right. In Berkeley, go east on Ashby, take 13 South, Redwood Road
exit and follow directions as above. Meet at 10:45; hike starts at 11:00am. Moderate strenuous 7 miles. Approximate

September 23 Sunday - Double Ferry Trek from Larkspur to
Sausalito.
Group meets at the Golden Gate Ferry Ticket Booth at the Ferry Building in San Francisco at 10:30 for the 10:45 ferry to Larkspur. We walk through Larkspur to Baltimore Canyon and up onto the slopes of Mt Tam, around the mountain and across the coastal ridges to Sausalito catching the ferry back to San Francisco (arriving at 7 or 8 pm). This is an epic trans Marin tramp with many habitats, trails, and glorious views. It is also a long day for experienced hikers (approximately 16 miles) and there will be two 1000 ft climbs and descents. Bring two water bottles, lunch, snacks, layered clothing, a hat, and sunscreen. For information on ferry ticket prices call Golden Gate Ferry. September 29 Saturday Night - Moonlight Hike at Tennessee
Valley
Experience the wonder of Tennessee Valley and Muir Beach under the full
moon. Meet at the Tennessee Valley
parking lot at 6;30PM; hike begins 6:45PM. Take the Stinson Beach/Hwy 1 exit
from 101 in Mill Valley. Go one-half mile and turn left on Tennessee Valley

October 7 Sunday--Point Reyes.
12 mile loop via Mt. Whitenberg. Lunch at a secluded yet beautiful beach. Mostly shaded trails. Direction: 101 North exit Central San Rafael, left on 3rd St and follow it to Sir Francis Drake Blvd, all way to Olema, right on Hwy1, immediate left, follow sign to Park HQ. meet 10:30am in front of park HQ; hike begins at 10:45. Take a pre-Halloween
swim in warm spring fed Bass Lake on this 8 mile hike. Meet at 11:00 at
the Palomarin trail head. Hike will begin at 11:15. The drive from San
Francisco takes about 1 1/4 hours. Please contact leader if you can take a

October 21 Sunday
- Circumambulation of Muir Woods
Group meets at 10:30
at the Muir Woods overflow parking lot (100 yds. past the main parking
lot). Hike starts at 10:45. Moderate to Strenuous 12 mile hike with
1000 ft climb and lots of additional up and down. For more information

Join us on a moderately strenuous 10 mile hike in Pt. Reyes.
The first two miles will be quite steep, followed by a gradual descent to Arch
Rock by the sea. Meet at Bear Valley Visitor Center by the flagpole at 10:00;
hike leaves at 10:15, returning by 5:00. Take Sir Francis Drake Blvd. to Olema.
Turn right. Go 1/8 mile. Turn left at Pt. Reyes National Seashore sign. Turn
left again after going 1/2 mile. Approx. 1 hour from S.F. Contact Mary at (510)

November 4 Sunday - Windy Hill Open Space Reserve in Portola Valley.
Join us on a 7.5 - 8
miles with altitude gain of about 1,200 feet. Takes about 3 hours at
moderate pace, plus extra time for lunch. Sunny/hot ascent with
meandering shaded gradual decline. The hike will leave at 11AM from the parking lot on Portola Road. From
I-280, exit Alpine Road in Portola Valley. Go south on Alpine Road about
2.9 miles to Portola Road (1st stop sign). Turn right onto Portola Road
and travel 0.8 miles to the parking lot on the left side of the road.
Obey posted speed limits as the police enforce them vigorously. For

9 mile hike along the Dipsea trail via the famous Mill Valley stairs. Meet 10:30 in front of the Book Depot in downtown Mill Valley; hike leaves at 10:45. Directions: North 101 exit Mill Valley, at Tam Junction take right on Miller rd. to Book Depot. (allow time for parking). Contact Kevin at ckjia@pacbell.net
November 18 Sunday -Redwood Park
Berkeley/Oakland hills hike. From Bay Bridge take 580 to 24, then 13 south.
Take Park exit, turn left and then left on Mountain. Right on Snake (1st light)
which becomes Shepherd Canyon. Right at Skyline, and 1/3 mile to the Skyline
parking lot. In Berkeley, go east on Ashby, take 13 South and follow directions
as above. Meet at 10:45; hike starts at 11:00am. Moderate strenuous 7 miles.

Visit a 30 ft. cascading waterfall on this rather strenuous 11 mile hike, starting at the spillway of Alpine Lake and ascending to a ridge in Carson Country toward the west. Beautiful views of Mt. Tam and the northside lakes. Take Sir Francis Drake Blvd to Fairfax. Meet us at the Fairfax Parkade across from the theater at 9:00. 45 minutes from S.F; hike leaves at 9:15. December 16 Sunday - Mt Home Inn/ Mt Tam
Meet at Mt Home Inn. Take the Stinson Beach/Hwy 1 exit from 101 in Mill
Valley. After 1 mile, turn left at stoplight (staying on Hwy 1). After 2.5
miles, turn right onto Panoramic Hwy and go 3 miles to the parking lot. Meet 10:30am,
hike begins 10:45. Approximate time to return is 3pm. It will take about 30
minutes to get to the meeting spot from the GG Bridge. For info contact
