Space and I:
My father indeed
caused my interest to space. His hobby was astronomy and in my childhood, when
we ware living in Maragheh,
my birthplace and the city of ancient astronomy, I was witnessing how he
observed the sky nightly and very often talked to me about the Sun, Moon and
planets and the wonders of Space. His vision had a good impression on me about
the space and understanding it and what happens in it. This interest led me to
choose physics as the subject for my academic studies. Before going to the University of Tehran
for studying physics there I was in correspondence with someone called Mr.
Kamran Kaviani a member of an amateur astronomical society based in Tehran and also the student of physics in Tehran University.
Mr. Kaviani was one year older than me and therefore entered to the University of Tehran
a year before me and before the advent of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. He later
completed his studies in physics in Iran and got a PhD degree in
Physics. He was very clever and serious person and when I joined him in Tehran University
to study physics he persuaded me very much to follow the subject of astronomy
and space. This initiated a deep interest in me to focus and pay attention more
to space. I was studying different subjects about space afterwards in the books
and magazines available to me in the library of the university and media. ….
