Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Lebanon and Romania joined the founding countries and the number of the members rises to 24 (GA resolution 1472 (XIV)).

1958

According to the GA resolution 1348 (XIII), 18 countries establish the Committee of Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS). The founding members are as follows:

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), France, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (now Russian Federation), the United Arab Republic (now Egypt), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland & the United States of America.
