Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving....twins separated at birth?
When I first saw The Fellowship of the Ring, I remember thinking "Sam could have done that!"
It wasn't until the second or third time that I decided he should have played Elrond Half-Elven,
in fact I wondered...it was filmed in New Zealand by a New Zealand boy,
why wasn't Sam asked? (which, by the way, I still don't know...)
After a while, I decided that Hugo Weaving had been an inspired choice for the part.
No one could have said "Men...men are weak" with quite such disappointed contempt.
I was happy with him as Elrond. But yet, every time I see Elrond on screen, part of me still thinks
...sam neill...
Okay, so I'm thick.
It was a whole year before I realized that
the reason Sam kept popping into my head during
Hugo's scenes was because
THEY WERE TWINS SEPARATED AT BIRTH!
I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me before!
No one else seemed to know this, so I set out to prove it.
To my astonishment, there WAS no proof.
Yet I am sure that Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving are twins, separated at birth.
Yeah, I know. Hugo's a bit younger (or so he says....)
Don't believe me? Check out these pics...
(I couldn't get the j-script to work just right, so each one will bring up the first pic,
then you can click thru...I'll work on it...)
