Tengwar-Inspired Fonts

These fonts were inspired by the elvish tengwar.

Tencele Latinwa ("Latin Alphabet" in Quenya) assigns to each letter of the keyboard a tengwa-lookalike. It is based on Måns Björkman's Tengwar Parmaite, in my opinion the most beautiful tengwa font to date, which may be found here. The font name below uses the font itself.

Elfetica is based on Max Miedinger's Helvetica, one of the most famous sans-serif fonts, closely imitated by Arial. It is meant for writing in "modern-looking" tengwar, according to the table below.

Tengwar Hereno was first designed by Paulo A. Otto in 1994 with the name of Tengwar 04. I redistributed and completed the font according to the standard keymapping [Tengwar Help File from here]. The font is called like this because the proper name Otto is interpreted as a variant of Odo, from Old German "prosperity, riches", in Quenya heren. The sample is the Ring-Verse in English.

Fontes Inspiradas nos Tengwar

Estas fontes foram inspiradas nos tengwar élficos.

Tencele Latinwa ("Alfabeto Latino" em Quenya) atribui a cada letra do teclado um caracter semelhante a um tengwa. Baseia-se na Tengwar Parmaite de Måns Björkman, em minha opinião a mais bela fonte de tengwar até agora, que pode ser encontrada aqui. O nome da fonte abaixo usa a própria fonte.

Elfetica baseia-se na Helvetica de Max Miedinger, uma das fontes sem serifas mais famosas, imitada de perto pela Arial. Destina-se a escrever em tengwar "de aspecto moderno", de acordo com a tabela abaixo.

Tengwar Hereno foi primeiro desenhada em 1994 por Paulo A. Otto, com o nome Tengwar 04. Redistribuí e completei a fonte de acordo com o mapa de teclas padrão [Tengwar Help File daqui]. A fonte chama-se assim porque o nome próprio Otto foi interpretado como variante de Odo, do antigo alemão "prosperidade, riqueza", em Quenya heren. A amostra é o Poema do Anel em inglês.
