Best quote: "Come on, have a little compassion. It's the one night of the year when they can feel normal." - Penny

Blake (Mark Polish) and Francis Falls (Michael Polish) are Siamese... errrr, "conjoined" twins. They share blood and kidneys, as well as a leg. Blake is the strong one; Francis weak and sickly.

For thier birthday, Francis orders a hooker for Blake. In come Penny (Michele Hicks). Broke and penniless, she arrives at the Imperial hotel, room 7b, to "do her job." However, once she gets a good look at the twins, whe is horrified.

She runs away and freaks out, but returns to room 7b as she forgot her purse.

Penny soon feels for the twins as she finds out that Francis is sick. She wants to help them, but they only push her away.

The twins soon get to like Penny, and find that she is a really caring person. One of Penny's friends comes between them and tries to exploit the twins. They blame Penny and feels she was using them. But before they can reconcile, Francis take a turn for the worse, and it is decided that an operation is the only way to save one of them...

Personal Comments

There is not too much i can say about the film. The story is really well thought out and it is a sad film. There is not question about it.

We know that Blake and Fracis are tired of being gawked at. They hate being "freaks." All tbey want is a normal life; as normal as they can get it. But they realize that "normal" is something that may never come. That is why they went to the hotel in the first place: to die. They wanted to be rid of the horrible life that they led. They had no idea that they would meet such a caring person as Penny, though.

In the end one of the twins dies. This is the really sad part. They both wanted to die together, but this could not happen. Either they both lived, or they both died. The tragic concequences of trying to obtain that normal life they so despeartly desired all of their lives.

Finally, you have got to give props to Micheal and Mark for their acting. They pulled off the "conjoined" bit very well; you'd think they really were conjoined! Once again, props to you two!

Plot:
Very well thought out and an emotional story. The back story about Penny does not take away from the main story of the Twins.

Visual Effects:
There is a very dark tone to the film and that is showcased in the darkness of each scene. There are no bright colors; most scenes are very dark a dreery.

Likewise, there are no special effects shots... the film doesn't need them. However, you must give credit to the costume designers and set decorators... they did a wonderful job.

Sound:

Character Development:
YOu can really see a change in Blake Falls... but not so much Francis. Blake and Francis are ready to die... but once they meet Penny his whole aspect of life hanges. There are good people in the world and maybe some of them would like to help us.

Penny is freaked right out at the first sight of them, but she grows to understand and respect them. She even loves them after a while. Even at end of the film, we see her with Blake. We know that they won't stay separated for long.

Atmosphere:
Thi film will take a strong film buff to get into it.

Realism:
Surprisingly heartrenching and real.
