Jerry (Jack Lemmon) and Joe (Tony Curtis) are muscians in a band. One day after work, they stumble onto a mob murder.

The pair manage to elude the mobsters who are out to kill them by dressing as girls and joining an all girl band headed for Florida. Joe turns into Joesephine, and Jerry tunrs into Daphne.

While on a train to Florida, they meet Sugar (Marilyn Monroe) the lead singer of the band and a girl desperatly trying to find the right man.

Things don't go right for the pair down in Florida as Sugar falls for Jerry (who is dressed up as a millionaire while not being Daphne), and another man falls for Josephine. To top it all off, the mob is having a convention at the very amse hotel they are staying at!

Personal Comments

Some Like it Hot was voted the funniest commedy of all time by the American Film Institute, and I can see why. It has its funny moments. Although I didn't laugh as hard as some people did, I did enoy the commedy (I love Jack Lemmon's acting in anything he's in).

I thought Marilyn Monroe was very sweet and lovable in this film. It's sad, however, to think that in just three and a half years the original blond bomshell would be dead from a drug overdose. :'( What a shame, you know, she was one of the great ones.

Plot:
This is one funny movie, and it has a great story to back it up. To put it simply, you can't have as comedic a movie as Some Like it Hot without a great story.

Visual Effects:
There are no special effects save for the fake bullets near the beginning. However, the cinematography is OK and works well with the comedic style.

Sound:
The score is very well done, and the songs sung in the film (the one by Marilyn) are great.

Character Development:

Atmosphere:
Very easy to get into.

Realism:
This film is hardly "Hollywoodized." Billy Wilder saw to that.

Warren’s Rating:
