Best quote: "Go over there and see if you can find any stairs." "Stairs? I thought we was lookin' for the Princess." "The Princess will be up the stairs in the highest room in the tallest tower." "How do you know that?" "I read it in a book once." - Shrek & Donkey

Shrek (Mike Myers) is an Ogre that lives in a swamp. One day, his swamp is invaded by fairy-tale creatures of every shape and size from the three blind mice to Pinocchio. Why? Because Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) hates them all.

Shrek, with a talking doney he met along the way named Donkey (Eddie Murphy) venture to Farquaad's castle in order to get the fairy-taler's out of the swamp. However, Farquaad has other ideas. If Shrek rescues a princess (Cameron Diaz) for Farquaad to marry, so he can become a real king, Shrek can have his land back.

Personal Commetns

Shrek Is an hilarious film that stars hilarious voice actors. you'd nver recognize Mike Myers as Shrek, but the others are easy to spot.

I loved the whole concept of the movie; it was fresh and new. It was also a welcome change from the regualr stuff we've seen up untill then.

Plot:
The characters are real, fresh and belivable. Great story to back them up.

Animation:
Dream Works did a great job animating this film. As good as the stuff Pixar turns out.

Sound:
Voice acting and score is exceptional, and a you gotta love the "I'm a Beliver" dance at the end.

Character Development:

Atmosphere:
The whole plot may seem kiddyish, but there is an overabundance of adult material in the film to make anyone love it. Kids will go crazy; adults will love the satire.

Realism:
It's a fairy-type tale, but the performances by the voice actors are belivable.

Warren’s Rating:

Movies it was nominated with for Best Animated Feature:
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, (2001); Monsters, Inc., (2001)
