Anachronistic Region Railroads

Anachronistic (An*ach`ro*nis"tic). Definition: [adj] chronologically misplaced; erroneous in date; more suitable for an earlier time

The Anachronistic Region is a round-robin group of Washington Metropolitan Area railroaders who are more interested in rail operations than in the prototypical correctness of the models that we use. To varying degrees, we are guilty of mixing equipment from different eras, such as steam locomotives operating in regular service next to 2nd generation diesels and AEM-2 electric motors. The mixed use of freight cars is prevalent, but more difficult to identify. While we are in three different scales, most of us use ready-to-run equipment, Kadee couplers, and some kind of car forwarding system. Half of us have adopted the Digitrax digital command control system.
